This is an historic church, part of the Anglican Communion, and the Episcopal Church.
Established in 1798, it is the fourth oldest congregation in the Diocese of Newark. Yet, its Mission Statement speaks for today:
"The mission of Christ Church is to restore all peoples to unity with God and each other in Christ through education, worship, outreach, fellowship, and communication in seeking to achieve a deeper relationship with God and compassion for others.
"In awareness of the variety of gifts and talents we each bring, all members of Christ Church are invited to join, in their own manner and time, in support of each other and the life of the parish while we seek to fulfill Christ Church's mission."
